Apply Quality Management Techniques On completion of this unit you will – • have the skills and knowledge required to enhance project outcomes through contributing to quality planning • be able to apply quality policies and procedures • be able to contribute to continuous improvement within projects • This unit is Ungraded which means that you will be found Competent or Not Yet Competent based on the completion of the assessment activities and the evidence of competency provided.

Elements of Competency • Each unit of study is composed of elements of competency • Apply Quality Management Techniques comprises 3 elements of competency – • Contribute to quality planning • Apply quality policies and procedures • Contribute to continuous improvement process • Elements of competency are further broken down into performance criteria, these can be found on the next slides

Contribute to quality planning • Contribute to determining quality requirements of project stakeholders • Contribute to establishing quantifiable quality criteria for project outcomes and objectives • Source information to locate and interpret quality policy and procedures • Contribute to the development of quality requirements in the project plan and processes

Apply quality policies and procedures • Undertake work under delegated authority to implement quality assurance within the project in accordance with agreed quality standards and guidelines • Maintain records and documentation in accordance with set procedures to facilitate quality control and to provide an audit trail • Document and evaluate results of project activities and product performance to determine compliance with agreed quality standards • Report shortfalls in quality outcomes to others to enable appropriate action to be initiated

  7. 3. Contribute to continuous improvement process • Participate in the ongoing review of project outcomes to determine the effectiveness of quality management activities • Report quality management issues and responses to others for application in future projects
