AIM OF CHAPTER 5 To give a technical support to implement the adoption of preventive measures to obtain funding or premium reduction. • The examples have to be adapted by the different Countries or companies. • The measures depend on several factors like: • the risk level of the sector • the size of the company • the degree of outsourcing • the legislative, social and economic context

  3. OHS MANAGEMENT SYSTEM Implementation of a system for the management of health and safety. To describe how it is possible to implement an OHS-MS on the base of the criteria defined in standards, guidelines, and rules recognized at a national and international level 3 di 72

CSR (CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY) Adoption by the company of a socially responsible behavior according to the principles of CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility), with a particular attention to the improvement of the health and safety conditions at work. To describe how it is possible to implement new solutions based on social responsible principles what are the international standard in this field (ISO 26000)

PROCEDURES AND GOOD PRACTICES • Adoption of good practices • Adoption of procedures for the selection of suppliers which take account of the enforcement of hygiene and safety at work. • First aid and emergency management procedures through tests and simulations. • Tests, controls and maintenance on the fire-fighting system and on the relevant fixed and mobile equipment with a higher frequency than the provisions in force. • Other procedures To report some examples of actions or procedures that could be rewarded or promoted to improve the behavior and the organization at work

EQUIPMENT, DEVICES, MACHINERY • Purchase, installation, refurbishment, modification of systems, machinery and equipment in order to increase safety levels, reduce workers’ exposure to chemical, physical and biological agents, to eliminate or reduce the use of hazardous substances from production cycles. • Installation of systems to monitor the status of the working environment in order to control workers’ exposure to chemical, physical and biological agents. • Refurbishment and/or structural modification of working environment. To report examples of actions to improve the safety conditions in the workplace, including machinery, etc or the lay out

  7. TRAINING COURSES AND INFORMATION • Training courses to make workers aware of the risks, of the dangers of substances, processes and activities, prevention and emergency procedures • Information tools and products to provide the largest number of workers with an innovative information and/or training tools, specific and easy to understand. • Information and training courses for foreign workers with the integration of language courses
