  1. Respiratory System in Amphibi Sharine and Fira

  2. Organs • Lungs : • Skin: Oxygen can pass through the membranous skin, thereby entering directly into the blood. When a frog submerges beneath the water, all its respiration takes place through the skin. • Gills

  3. FROG • The frog is covered by a soft, thin, moist skin composed of two layers, an outer epidermis and an inner dermis. The skin does not merely protect the frog but helps in respiration • The adult frog uses their lungs for their respiration • During the developmental stages –the tadpole and larva of frogs respire through the gills as they live in an aquatic environment at that time.

  4. Types of respiration respiratory system of frog • Cutaneousrespiration:  gaseous exchange between the skin of the frog and the external environment –water and air. • Buccalrespiration: When the frog floats on the surface of water or while resting on land they respire through the buccalcavity • Pulmonary respiration: comprises of the nasal cavity, buccal cavity, larynx, trachea, a pair of lungs and the alveoli inside them
