  2. “He who is not with me is against me.” • No neutrality with Jesus Matthew 12:30 (Lk. 14:25-26) • There is not “unity in diversity” in His revealed truth, Ephesians 4:4-6 • Emphatic and absolute nature of Christ and the gospel is exclusive, not all-inclusive (Matt. 7:13-14, 21) • With or against Jesus? Matthew 12

  3. Cannot bind human traditions and be with Jesus 12:1-8 • Binding human traditions elevates man’s will above God’s law, 12:1-4 • Binding human traditions ignores authorized activities, 12:5-7 (9-13) • Binding human traditions does not reverence the authority of Jesus, 12:8 Col. 2:20-23

Cannot promote Jesus in violation of God’s plan and be with Jesus 12:15-21 • Messiah’s service to mankind made Him known as God’s Servant, (Isa. 42:1-4) • Unscriptural attempts to make Jesus known include: • The social gospel (Social agenda) • The “me” gospel (Felt needs) • The ecumenical gospel (Unity in diversity) • Must trust in His name, 12:21 Gal. 1:6-7

  5. Cannot hold false doctrines and be with Jesus 12:22-27 • False doctrines about Jesus 12:22-24 (Col. 2:9-10) • Diminish or remove his deity • Diminish or remove his humanity • False doctrines that blaspheme his power, 12:24-27 John 1:14

  6. Cannot hold false doctrines and be with Jesus 12:28 • False doctrines about the kingdom • Kingdom has come, not withdrawn, Luke 11:20 (Mk. 1:14-15; 9:1) • Premillennialism is not “with Jesus” • Kingdom is the church, Jno. 18:36; 6:15; Matt. 16:18-19; Lk. 17:20-21 Col. 1:13

  7. Cannot reject the Holy Spirit and his work and be with Jesus 12:31-32 • Reduced to an impersonal force (Acts 5:3-4) • Caricatured into ecstatic emanations (Mark 16:17-20) • Ridiculed as the Revealer of all truth (John 16:13) John 16:8-13

Who is “With Jesus”? 12:30 • Submit to the absolute, final authority of the Lord in revealed truth (12:1-14) • Conform to God’s plans (12:15-21) • Believe He is the Son of God (12:22-30) • In His kingdom today (12:28; Col. 1:13) • Accept the work of the Holy Spirit and obey the gospel given by Him (12:32) Matt. 12:33-37

  9. Who is “With Jesus”? • “Gather with” Jesus by keeping his commandments (his word) and living as he lived, 1 John 2:3-6 • Be “with Jesus” and not “with men” who are not “with Jesus”! 2 John 9-11
