Adjectives • Adjectives modify nouns or pronouns. • They often come right before the modified word. • Or they may follow a linking verb and modify the subject. • They answer the questions • What kind? • Which one? • How many? • How much?
Types of Adjectives • Regular • Articles: definite (the) and indefinite (a, an) • Nouns can be used as adjectives • Proper • Compound • Pronouns can be used as adjectives • Demonstrative (this, that, these, those) • Interrogative (which, what, whose) • Indefinite (see indefinite pronouns)
