These may have arrived at a port or airport or could beheld in a special procedure. As goods cross the border their passage into a new customs territory is recorded by a customs office of transit. This allows for border control if required. Transit movements must start at a registered customs office of departure or the premises of an authorised trader. The movement is ended at a Customs Office of Destination or the premises of an approved trader. They must then be entered into free circulation, enter into another customs procedure or exit to a third country if appropriate.
