What are Cooperative Contracts? • Allow local and county agencies to purchase products and services without going out to bid • State of NJ issued RFP and awarded contracts • Nationally recognized cooperative purchasing organizations (e.g. WSCA/NASPO, US Communities, NJPA, NIPA, etc.)-does not give access to all contracts • GSA Schedules • All awarded as State contracts

  9. GSA Schedules State is authorized to purchase off of a GSA Schedule by N.J.S.A. 52:34-6.1 The Division of Purchase and Property (DPP) first takes specific action to award a specific State contract with the GSA, forming the basis for the pricing terms of the contract

Understanding State Contracts • Contracts can be found at: http://www.state.nj.us/treasury/purchase/ • The State issues set length of time term contracts. • Term contracts are 4 digits and start with: • T = term contract • G = GSA schedule that has been promulgated • M = contract promulgated from a nationally recognized cooperative purchasing organization • S = supplemental contract to an already awarded term contract • Only certain contracts are cooperative. • Under each term contract, there are 5 digit supplier contract numbers
