Connecticut State Data Center Overview University of Connecticut Libraries MAGIC, Department of Geography, and Office of Policy and Management involvement began October 2010 Immediately began reviewing Data Center Purpose, examining usage statistics, and aligning with State Data Center core responsibilities from U.S. Census Bureau Developed downloadable datasets for Connecticut in numeric and spatial formats

  4. October 2010 – June 30, 2011 Developed datasets for Connecticut from 2010 Census Data Assisted State Agencies, Organizations, Researchers, Media, and the Public with Census inquiries Strengthened connections between CtSDC and educational opportunities for students

  5. July 1, 2011-Present Hosted 22 workshops on Census data across the state Processed 2010 Census and 2010 American Community Survey Data for CT Assisted with inquires on census data Expanded website offerings based on user search terms/inquiries

Sustainability and Moving Forward Python scripts to process data in spreadsheet and geodatabase formats Population Projections are being updated and will include clearly defined, replicable methodology Reports will be generated in collaboration with multiple campus partners Increasing partnerships and collaborative projects Expanding website offerings based on user input and keyword search terms
