    10. EARLY HEAD START REPORT TO POLICY COUNCIL December 16, 2010 BY: ROBIN DAVIS

    11. MONITORING & INSPECTIONS Playground and center inspections completed for the month. Classroom observations Sleeping charts, feeding schedules, child daily sheets, tooth brushing, & ongoing observations have been monitored for the month.

    12. Room Decoration We had a classroom decoration contest and the best decorated room won a party. The rooms were so beautifully decorated that all of the classes received cupcakes and ice cream. Tammy Stackable was the judge and she chose four classrooms; of the four she drew out two, then one from the two. The grand prize winner was Ms. Autumn and Ms. Stephanie (Class #1). They chose a Charlie Brown Christmas theme. They will receive an additional party for the “Grand Prize”.

    14. Special Events Mr. Jeff paid us a visit in November; the children always enjoy him so much. Santa Clause visited us on the 3rd. One of the teachers took some great pictures of Santa and the children. Fat Cat is going be visiting us on the 21st giving out books to the children. Our staff will be having a Christmas party on the 21st at 6:00 Our staff have placed a food tree in the lobby; we hope to have enough food to give three families a Christmas Meal.

    17. Report for Policy Council December 16, 2010 Jennifer Pitman Education/ Literacy & Disabilities Coordinator We had Holiday Music Fun Wednesday provided by Mr. Jeff!!! Thank You Mr. Jeff for putting everyone into the Holiday Spirit!! We are expecting a visit from Santa on Friday December 17!!! He will present each children with a small surprise, and listen to their Christmas wishes. The classrooms will present their Christmas programs for Parents Friday December 17. Each classroom has a designated time. Be looking out for reminders coming home! 3 new Exceptional Children’s referrals and one placement meeting since last reported.

    29. Nutrition & Child Care Compliance Report NOVEMBER 2010 Elizabeth Correll Meal Counts NOVEMBER SNACK FOOD & BEVERAGES: $1,583.37

    30. Nutrition - November 2010 continued Kitchen Inspection Reports completed & received. On site classroom/center visits completed and reports submitted. Menus received/revised/reviewed. Meal Invoices received/posted & submitted. Ongoing file audits & PROMIS data entries. Number of children with Food Allergies & Special Diets 20.

    31. Child Care Licensure Classroom/center on site visits were observed/assessed and feedback provided staff. OLD FORT received a DCD visit: (3) violations were cited. Correction Letter is due December 21. Fire Drills & Monthly Playground inspections were completed.

    37. Director’s Report December, 2010 – Peggy Freeman Our annual Risk Management Meeting was held on December 1. Thirteen of us participated with regional staff in Atlanta by conference call from the Central Office Board Room. We were informed that our Triennial Review will be an announced visit and the hints were that it will occur in the spring of 2011.

    38. Only one person showed up for the Parent Focus Group on December 8, so we postponed it; we need to reschedule that meeting today. Information Memorandum HS-10-08 from the Office of Head Start is in your packet.
