  6. Journey to“A Better Life”The mystery of the Ages What is the mystery?? That “you”—The Church have been chosen as the vessel of salvation for God’s purpose Now clean out the “residence” the Spirit is moving in

  7. Journey to“A Better Life”The mystery of the Ages Knowing ones purpose…Eph. 3:1 “for this reason I, Paul, the prisoner of Christ Jesus…for the sake of you Gentiles”

  8. Journey to“A Better Life”The mystery of the Ages • I’ll Show You A Mystery A. The Revelation of the Mystery (Eph. 3:2-6) Eph. 3:2 “Surely you have heard about the administration of God’s grace that was given to me for you” —taking care of the “Master’s business”— 1. Ensuring the Offering is clean (Sanctified) Rom. 15:16 “To be a minister of Christ Jesus to the Gentiles with the priestly duty of proclaiming the gospel of God, so that the Gentiles might become an offering accept- able to God, sanctified by the Holy Spirit”

  9. Journey to“A Better Life”The mystery of the Ages • I’ll Show You A Mystery A. The Revelation of the Mystery 1. Ensuring the Offering is clean (Sanctified) a) When given responsibility; Be responsible 1 Corin. 4:1,2 “So then, men ought to regard us as servants of Christ and as those entrusted with the secret things of God. Now it isrequir- ed that those who have been given a trust must prove faithful” Paul urged them Corintians to think of him, Peter and Apolos not as leaders of factions, but as servants of Christ entrusted with the secret things of God. A servant does what his master tells him to do. We must do what God tell us to do in the Bible and through His Holy Spirit. Each day God presents us with needs and opportunities that challenge us to do right

  10. Journey to“A Better Life”The mystery of the Ages • I’ll Show You A Mystery A. The Revelation of the Mystery 2. God Speaks…Eph. 3:3 “…the mystery made known to me by revelation…as I have already written briefly” a) His gospel delivered…Gal. 1:12 “I did not receive it from any man, nor was I taught it; rather, I received it by revelation from Jesus Christ” 3. He let’s us know what it is to know.. Eph. 3:4 “In reading this, then, you will be able to understand my insight into the mystery of Christ”

  11. Journey to“A Better Life”The mystery of the Ages • I’ll Show You A Mystery A. The Revelation of the Mystery 3. He let’s us know what it is to know.. a) Revealed to His Church…Eph. 3:5 “…was not made known to men in other gen- erations as it has now been revealed by the Spirit to God’s holy apostles and prophets” 4. Not even the Pagan is left out… Gal. 3:29 “If you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s, and heirs according to the promise” The original promise to Abraham was intend- ed for the whole world; not just for Abra- ham’s descendants. All believers participate in this promise and are blessed as children of Abraham

  12. Journey to“A Better Life”The mystery of the Ages • I’ll Show You A Mystery A. The Revelation of the Mystery 4. Not even the Pagan is left out… a) Cause they are Yours…Jn. 17:11 “I will remain in the world no longer, but they are still in the world, and I am coming to You. Holy Father, pro- tect them by the power of Your name —the name You gave Me—so that they may be one as We are one” Jesus was asking that the disciples be united in harmony and love as the Father, Son and Holy Spirit are united—the strongest of all unions

  13. Journey to“A Better Life”The mystery of the Ages • I’ll Show You A Mystery B. The Declaration of the Mystery(Eph. 3:7-9) Eph. 3:7 “I became a servant of this gospel by the gift of God’s grace given me…the working of His power” 1. Flips the script in spite of us… 1 Corin. 15:9 “For I am the least of the apostles and do not even deserve to be called an apostles, because I persecuted the church of God” As a zealous Pharisee, Paul had been an enemy of the Christian Church—even to the point of capturing and persecuting believers. Thus he felt unworthy to be called an apostle of Christ

  14. Journey to“A Better Life”The mystery of the Ages • I’ll Show You A Mystery B. The Declaration of the Mystery 2. Making It Clear To The Church… Eph. 3:9 “To make plain to everyone the admini- stration of this mystery, which for ages past was kept hidden in God, who created all things” C. The motivation for the Mystery (Eph. 3:10-13) Eph. 3:10 “…that now, through the church, the manifold wisdom of God should be made known …rul- ers and authorities in the heavenly realms”

  15. Journey to“A Better Life”The mystery of the Ages • I’ll Show You A Mystery C. The motivation for the Mystery 1. Even they rejoice…Lk. 15:10 “In the same way, I tell you, there is rejoicing in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents” a) Their Job Assignment…Matt. 13:41,42 “The Son of Man will send out His angels, and they will weed out of His kingdom everything that causes sin and all who do evil. They will throw them into the fiery furance, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth”

  16. Journey to“A Better Life”The mystery of the Ages • I’ll Show You A Mystery C. The motivation for the Mystery 2. Resting In Assurance…Eph. 3:12 “In Him and through faith in Him we may approach God with freedom and confidence” 3. What to expect when we come into His presence…Heb. 4:16 “Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need” Prayer is our approach to God, and we are to come with confidence. Some Christian approach God meekly with heads hung low, afriad to ask Him to meet their needs. Come with reverence be- cause He’s our king. But come with bold assur- ance because He is our Friend and Counselor

  17. Journey to“A Better Life”The mystery of the Ages My responsibilities because of what I’ve come to know and understand, I am obligated to tell others. Especially those that are out of the “ark of safety.” I don’t know why God chose me, but I do understand that in order to keep His favor; it’s best I do as I’m instructed... —make the mystery plain— —win souls—

  18. Journey to“A Better Life”The mystery of the Ages THE PHRASE THAT PAYS!!!!!!!!!! MY FAITH WILL NEVER RISE ABOVE THE LEVEL OF MY CONFESSION

  20. Journey to“A Better Life”The mystery of the Ages WHAT IT SAYS This is my Bible, I am who my Bible say I am, I can do what my Bible say I can do. I have what my Bible say I have, my Bible teaches my spirit, my spirit teaches my mind, and my mind teaches my body. My Bible is full of promises and command- ments, my Bible has good and bad examp- les. How do I know my Bible is true? By comparing scripture with scripture and spiritual things with spiritual things. I study my Bible to show myself approved, rightly dividing the Word of God.
