Dress Code for Whoopin’ Weekend • 3rd Day • Blue ARC Shirt • Jeans or Shorts • Comfortable Shoes • Name Tag • 1st Day – Morning • Maroon polo • Tucked in • Black or Khaki Dress Pants • Name Tag • Belt • Nice shoes • 1st Day – After Parents leave • Maroon polo • Blue jeans/Shorts • Name Tag • 2nd Day • Conference Shirt • Blue Jeans or Shorts • Comfortable Shoes • Name Tag

  3. Whoopin’ Weekend Emergency Procedures

  4. Overview • Minor and Major Injuries • Harassment • Weather Problems • Procedure if something happens • Numbers to call

  5. Minor Injuries • Cuts requiring just a Band-Aid • Eye gets poked • Sprains • Bruises • Minor allergic reactions (rashes, hives)

  6. Minor Accident or Illness • Remain Calm • Locate an exec, but do NOT leave the injured person • File a report with Lisa

  7. Major Injuries • Severe allergic reactions (difficulty breathing, vomiting) • ANY head injury • Dislocations, fractures, or broken bones • Severe eye injury • Electric shock • Loss of consciousness • Overdose • Sudden collapse or fall • Hypothermia, heat-induced illness, or unconsciousness

  8. Major Accident • Remain calm • Call 9-911 or 911* • Locate an exec, but do NOT leave the injured person • File a report with Lisa **If head injury, do NOT move the injured person

  9. Headquarters • Always two execs in the SGA Conference room • Situation room • Tina will be on call at night; calling that phone number will get you her

  10. Suicidal Thoughts or Emotional Distress • Remain calm • Locate and exec, but do NOT leave the individual • File a report with Lisa

  11. Damaged Property • Remain Calm • Locate an exec • Record time of the incident & take a picture • File a report with Lisa

  12. Inappropriate Behavior • Includes gestures and comments • Ask participant to stop • Locate an exec • File a report with Lisa

  13. Participant indicates Abuse • Either physical or mental abuse/neglect • Keep calm and remove participant from immediate harm • Report the situation to Lisa/Sarah/Amy • Dial 911 and report abuse • Name, age, address, & name of abuser may be asked • File report with police • Update Lisa/Sarah/Amy, only provide: • Name of law enforcement official • Time of the report • Summary of discussion with law enforcement

  14. From CPT: • Only ask: • What happened? • When did this happen • Where did this happen • Who did this to you

  15. Someone at WW is Threatened • Ask the perpetrator to stop • If he/she does not stop, call 9-911 or 911 • File a report with Lisa

  16. Missing Participant • Remain calm • Locate an exec • File a report with Lisa

  17. Leaving Campus • Remain calm • Locate an exec • File a report with Lisa

  18. Fights Verbal • Separate the parties • Locate an exec • File a report with Lisa Physical • Call UPD • Do NOT try to break up the fight • Locate an exec • File a report with Lisa

  19. MIPs and Drugs • Call UPD • DO NOT TOUCH ANYTHING • File a report with Lisa

Bomb Threat requiring Evacuation • Remain calm • Do not call 911 unless immediate emergency • Evacuation orders to be followed as they are disseminated by Code Maroon • Gather all personal belongings • Whoopin’ Weekend will meet at Brinson Park on Dexter Dr or the Northgate Promenade (court yard behind the Dixie Chicken) if South or Northside, respectively

  21. Active Shooter Inside Building • Secure room by locking or barricading • Seek concealment & silence cell phone • Call 911, wait for all clear • Inside room: only you can make the decision to flee or seek shelter • Remain calm and try to phone the police Outside Building • Go to room that can be locked or barricaded • Seek concealment • Call 911 • Wait for “All Clear” from police • DO NOT listen to unfamiliar voices

  22. Severe Weather Lightning • Alarms will sound • Cease outdoor activities • Seek shelter inside a building- avoid open areas • Contact HQ Tornado • Go to a basement or first floor of building • Stay away from exterior walls- move to interior hallways

  23. Unexpected Participant • Locate Sarah/Amy or Abby • Wait for their decision on whether or not to admit the participant to conference “Sorry, you’re not on the list.”

  24. Lost Luggage • Remain calm • Locate an exec

  25. When In Doubt… • Remain Calm • Locate an Exec • File an incident report form with Lisa

  26. Side note: • It is very important that you report everything to us, even if you think it is insignificant or slightly questionable • If you feel uncomfortable handling a situation, find an exec and we’ll deal with it
