The Democratic National Committee • The chairperson of the DNC is elected by vote of members of the Democratic National Committee. • The DNC is composed of the chairs and vice-chairs of each state Democratic Party Committee, plus ‘at large’ delegates elected from the State party officers. • The Officers of the Florida State Democratic Party are elected by the members of the State Party Central Committee, • The State Central Committee is comprised of the State Committeeman and woman ( locally Rick Boylan, Wanda Schwerer). • DNC and FDP Committee members are elected every four years,
How you elect PC DEC Exec Board, FDP & DNC members Precinct Committee members are elected in Presidential election years, or by the DEC membership in other years • The majority of precincts have one male and one female Committee member. • Larger precincts can have up to 4 each. • If all open committee slots in your precincts are filled, you can apply to be an appointed member. • **You elect representatives to select committees
What are the various Boards & Committees? • (1) Chair is appointed by the DEC Chair • (2) Chair is elected by committee members • (3) Chair is the Treasurer who appoints other members • (4) Is comprised of the DEC Vice Chair, Secretary and others as specified by the bylaws

Precinct Committee Member Responsibilities • What is a Precinct Committeeperson? The official elected or appointed representative of the County Democratic Party in that precinct. • Contact Democrats in your precinct, with information about voting and candidates. • Recruit Block Captains. • Connect with affinity groups. • Attend regular monthly meetings of the Pinellas County Democratic party. • Contribute Money. • Assist the Party in fundraising events
District Chair Responsibilities What is a District Chair? A voting member of the PCDEC Board, elected by Precinct Committee members within that State House District, who builds the organization within that District. • Organize your District • Know and stay in touch with your Precinct Committee members. • Remind them of Monthly Meetings; encourage and confirm attendance. Communicate to the Credentials Chair any excused absences. • Remind and encourage participation in Party and Candidate events • Recruit new Committee members. • Connect with affinity groups. • Participate on the County Party Boards and Committee on which you serve. • Raise/Contribute money. • Attend monthly DEC General and Executive Board Meetings
Every two year DEC members elect • In December; Odd-numbered year: All Officers; • Chair, • Vice-Chair, • Secretary, • Treasurer • In January, even numbered year: • Two “at large” members of the Credentials Committee • The Credentials Committee will elect a Chair. • Your District Officers and Representatives • Chair • Vice Chair • Secretary/Treasurer • Your District representative on the Rules and Bylaws Committee • Your District representative on the Outreach Committee • Your District representative on the Grievance Committee • The Grievance Committee will elect a Chair
Every FOUR year members elect • In December of the Presidential Election year, Members elect: • State Committee Man and • State Committee Woman
