There are very few exceptions to this policy. • The fiscal agent will provide the Governor’s Office of Workforce Development with monthly Reimbursement Requests whereby the reimbursement expenses are directly associated with the Work Plan and associated budget and the request for reimbursement is signed by both the CWRC team leader and the fiscal agent. The grant recipient must provide invoice information that documents the expenditure to receive reimbursement. • All fiscal agents are subject to the applicable OMB Circulars. • All recipients of training, funds or other items funded with the GOWD generated grant MUST be at least 14. Once these numbers have been compiled from various reporting agencies, counties currently working towards certification will be given notice of their new goals and current progress. • High School Absentee Rates • Baseline measures obtained from DOE/GOSA • Measurements will need to be reported Quarterly from all public high schools in your county and reported to GOWD • We need both raw numbers and percentage reports • This should not be a time-consuming effort. • Postsecondary attendance rates • Provided by USG & TCSG • Provided for the end of the first semester after high school graduation • High School Graduation Rate • Provided by DOE/GOSA • Reported twice annually Governor Nathan Deal Executive Director Tricia Pridemore

  20. Our Objective The objective of our Work Ready Continuation Team is to improve the High School Graduation Rate in Pickens County. Key goals of our initiative include using the grant funds to create a program that will make a measurable positive impact and can be used as a model and replicated in other communities in Georgia.

  22. The Process • Relied on first hand experience of Team Members • Used correlation between high absenteeism and low graduation rates as the starting point • Evaluated numerous actions plans • Plan elements that did not meet previous WR grant criteria were revised

The Plan • Include all, but focus on the at risk group of freshman for impact and measurement • Utilize resources at Chattahoochee Technical College to create a realistic career goal based on actual program • Enlist area business and industries to provide further job insight and opportunity • Create a mechanism for student outreach and support to help insure goal attainment

  24. The Path Forward • Create an outreach and support program that can be implemented and sustained • Continually make adjustments and improvements • Track and measure results based on individual student achievement and overall graduation rate improvement • Document • Share Success

Governor’s Office of Workforce Development Two Martin Luther King Jr. Drive 1104 West Tower Atlanta, Georgia 30334 • CWRC Chamber Memberships • GOWD will pay for a one-year chamber membership for the CWRC team for your community. The membership should be made in the name of the team and cannot be made in an individual’s name • For reimbursement, the fiscal agent should pay for the chamber membership and request reimbursement from GOWD. The membership does not count against your grant award. • For counties where the fiscal agent is the local chamber of commerce, GOWD must be notified in advance to allow for direct payment of chamber membership Governor Nathan Deal Executive Director Tricia Pridemore
