  3. The climb to the top of C.O.D • All the elders climbed the hill which was no easy task

  4. From the top of Tho’ odi • Susie Charlie was the first to spot the bull moose that the students shot

  5. How much noise can we make? • The girls ate a lot and made way to much noise

  6. Moose can kill • Extreme care must be taken when approaching a downed moose

  7. Good luck going back home • The first thing to do after dropping a moose is to remove the head and point it towards home, so that you will have good luck next time hunting

  8. SKINNING THE MOOSE • LUKE TITUS AND EZRA GIBSON SKINNING MOOSE

  9. Traditions Live On • Luke shows the young men how to correctly use a knife to remove the ribs.

  10. Women at a Moose kill • Women have a role in assisting the men in the butchering.

  11. Packing Moose to Boat • A moose can weigh 1,000 lb. It will take twelve trips to pack out all the meat.

  12. HANGING MEAT • Taking care of the meat is very important.it must be kept cool and clean

  13. As we did 1,000 years ago • Each night the group sat around the camp fire to stay warm and to listen to stories by the elders

  14. Elders have a great sense of humor • It was nice to see the elders always having a good time and making us laugh

  15. Cultural Heritage Education Institute • C.H.E.I helped organize and fund the trip.
