  4. MORE … Rainwater Collection - All rainwater that runs off Chiswick Park’s builidings is collected. Then, it is used to irrigate plants and pumped into the lake. Earthworks Remediation - In order to reduce the quantity of waste send to the landfill and the number of truck journeys, the earth and rubble was cleaned and kept on site then used in the park’s landscaping Recycled Building Materials - Recycled steel and concrete were used wherever possible.Helping conserving non renewable fossil fuels, reducing wastage of raw materials, and reducing carbon emissions.   5. MORE … CARBON NEUTRAL ! 0 !! Recycling Policy Chiswick Park Estate Management headquarters is totally carbon neutral. This was achieved by the commitment to recycling, use of energy from green utility suppliers ( who source energy from wind and hydro-power) and carbon offsetting Shortlisted for the National Recycling awards last year, more than 75% of the park’s waste was recycled. The park’s overall recycling percentage is currently running at 90%. The year end target is set at 95%. The fixed recycling lines include glass,cardboard,paper,printer, and photocopier toners,batteries,PC’s and other hardware such as printers or scanners.   7. Awards & Recognition Most of the information on the last few slides was taken from the Chiswick Park website. To check that the information is not too buyist I compared it to information on other websites: - Chiswick Park has been awarded Gold in the International Green Apple Awards for environmental best practice and sustainable development. - No.1 British Council for Offices Workplace Design Awards - 'Best of the Best' - BALI National Landscape Award 2007 (for soft landscaping under 1 hectare) 2007 - Yakult Healthy Workplace Award 2007 - The park will also receive a Green Hero Wall Shield during a ceremony at the Tower of London and will be included in the Green Book, the world’s only work of reference on environmental best practice. - It also won Recycling Performance of the Year in the annual CIWM (Chartered Institute of Waste Management) Awards for Environmental Excellence. With 90% of the waste generated on the site recycled.
