City of Bristol College • Large FE College in the West of England • HE generates approximately 6% of College income • 850 HEFCE FTE, 1300 Headcount • Indirectly funded at present, HEFCE contract going forward • 5 Partner Universities and Edexcel • Faculty delivery of programmes • Centralised Admin and Quality • Why I’m here today

  4. Why? • “With the introduction of higher tuition fees from September 2012, students are rightly demanding more for their investment. The HEAR is a way to provide them with verified information about their academic and personal achievements which could significantly enhance their employability.” • “Already, around half our students are developing a HEAR, and the Burgess Implementation Steering Group firmly believe that more will demand it as the benefits in these competitive times become clear.” Professor Bob Burgess, Oct 2011 (Guardian Higher Education Network)
