  3. Defining Required Product Characteristics Conduct Product Evaluations Confirm/Define Product Groups Confirm Interchangeability Confirm/Develop the Master Specifications (Purchase Specs) Develop Product Master Specifications (Purchase Specs)

Assessing Potential Supplier’s Capabilities All non-incumbent / packer label suppliers will be subjected to an initial Food Safety and Sanitation physical audit The audit process will require suppliers to perform an online QA pre-audit Only suppliers that qualify after the pre-audit process will be audited

Packaging and Labeling Approval Sysco Brand Packaging & Labeling Requirements All Sysco Brand packaging graphics & text must be reviewed and approved Suppliers must submit packaging through the “One-Click” approval system and are responsible for artwork approval fees Awarded suppliers will be required to enter Customer Specifications

Compliance Monitoring Examples of Sysco’s Monitoring of Product Compliance include but are not limited to Routine supplier audits to verify compliance with Food Safety and Sanitation requirements Sampling, monitoring, evaluations, enforcement and reporting requirements Performs ongoing verification of specifications

Compliance Monitoring (contd) Examples of Sysco’s Monitoring of Product Compliance include but are not limited to Food Safety Programs for specific commodities Point Source Inspection Program for Imports and Seafood categories Time Temperature Recorders for vehicles transporting specified refrigerated and frozen products
  8. Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ’s) Where do I go to access the online pre-audit self assessment survey? A system generated e-mail will be sent to the supplier with the appropriate link to access the survey. Howlong do I have to complete the survey? Ten business days. Are Import Processors held to different standards than Domestic Processors? No. Quality and Food Safety requirements are the same.
  9. Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ’s) Can Processors identified on Import Alert be approved to produce for Sysco? No. Processors identified on Import Alert will NOT be approved. Are routine visits performed by Sysco QA announced or unannounced? Most of the times, visits are announced. Our staff may conduct unannounced visits as needed. Are third party audits announced or unannounced? All third party audits are unannounced.
  10. Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ’s) Does Sysco QA conduct all Initial Audits? Yes. The facility must be in full production of the product of interest. Sysco QA will in some situations modify this position, however, the facility must at a minimum be in full production of the product category and/or product of similar type/pack. What products will require Time Temperature Recorders? Ready to Eat seafood items that are not transported in ice or other cooling media, where the transportation exceeds four hours Refrigerated Ground Beef products Refrigerated Controlled Vacuum Packaged Poultry Products Refrigerated Produce Loads Specified frozen commodities such as French fries and frozen potatoes
  11. Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ’s) What is the primary function of “One Click”? The Sysco One Click system bundles all packaging related processes into one centralized, convenient application. Combining Sysco Item Master File data, Quality Assurance Specification data and packaging artwork into a managed process controlled through a centralized communications portal facilitates faster, smoother reviews.

Quicker time to market Direct association of packaging with its corresponding product structure Sysco/Supplier collaboration of product data Is there a fee for “One Click”? Yes, there is a fee associated with the Sysco Brand artwork approval process. Please refer to the RFQ Questions Tab under the Quality Assurance/ Packaging Specifications Section in the eSourcing Tool for a document detailing this information.
