Designer’s life • Born August 9th, 1959 • Raised on Long Island • As a toddler, he was a model for products like toilet paper and Luck Charm cereal • Attend the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City • Dropped out after two semesters • He launched his first Women’s collection in 1981

Designer influence • His mother, a former Revlon model • When he was a boy in Long Island, his mother would take him on her shopping trips to downtown boutiques • He says she taught him everything he knows • His mother told him that women desire comfortable and well fitting clothes • By the time he was 10, he was designing vest and t-shirts and selling them to neighborhood girls

  5. Fashion modifications The design in the middle is a little odd. He could maybe make the bottoms a lot longer turning them into pants or a skirt and making the piece of clothing under the jacket cover the whole torso, it would be an appropriate outfit for a work environment.
