  2. High school - • There are no courses really needed but some classes that could benefit you. • Chemistry, Math, language and business.

  3. College - • From your junior to senior year most schools provide a program to go to cosmetology school. • Usually 6 days a week and about 8 hours a day. • It is free to go but you have to buy all your own supplies and books.

  4. Michigan college of beauty - • All states require cosmetologists to have a license to practice. • Must also pass a written and practical exam • Must have completed 415 hours classroom work, 1085 hours laboratory work and clinic practice. • 1020 South Monroe St. Monroe, MI 48161.

  5. What is a cosmetologist? • Cosmetologists are beauty professionals who work on hair, skin, and nails to keep them healthy. • Most cosmetologist are self employed or work in salons.

  6. Wages - • Entry Wage • Hourly - $8.63 • Yearly - $17,960 • Median Wage • Hourly - $10.24 • Yearly - $21,300 • Experienced Wage • Hourly - $13.98 • Yearly - $29,080 • You also make a fair amount of money in tips.

  7. Pros and cons - • Pros - Personal Interaction, entrepreneurship opportunities & job satisfaction. • Cons - Physical demands, licensing requirements & environment.

  8. Inspiration - • My older sister went through the program the school provides and graduated college a month after she was finished with high school. • She got a job within five months of her being doing with school completely.
