Physical fitness is not only one component of being healthy it's the foundation of a healthy lifestyle. The Physical Fitness Academy recommends these 5 activities to get you started on your path to better physical fitness: 1. Regular Physical Activity - Physical activity is any bodily movement produced by skeletal muscles that requires energy expenditure. Physical activity can be classified into four main categories: aerobic, anaerobic, mind-body, and muscle strengthening. 2. Proper Diet - A healthy diet is one that helps to maintain or improve overall health. A healthy diet provides the body with essential nutrients: fluid, macronutrients, micronutrients, and adequate calories. 3. Adequate Rest - Sleep is an important part of overall health and well-being. It allows the body to repair and rejuvenate itself. Most people need 7-8 hours of sleep per night.
