  2. Welcome to UTHSCSA! • All UPG employees will transition to UTHSCSA at one time • Two remaining groups to be transitioned • Revenue Cycle (Approximately 110) • Clinical Operations (Approximately 273) • Hire date as UTHSCSA employees will be July 1, 2010

  3. Transition Timeline: • Town Hall Meetings - Week of April 5th and 12th twelve 1 hours sessions; 10 at the MARC and 2 at the Downtown clinic. • Benefit Meetings – Week of May 3rd, 10th,17th, and Saturday the May 15th (at the MARC) • Hire Date – July 1, 2010. • Orientations - Week of July 5th,12th and 19th April May June July 5th – 8th, 12th – 16th 3rd – 7th, 10th – 14th, 15th1st5th 12th 19th Town Halls Benefits Meetings Orientations

Job Security: • Employees will maintain current job and base pay • UTHSCSA new hire processes will apply (i.e., background checks, complete applications, orientation, etc.) • Employees will NOT have to compete for their job • Job titles and descriptions may change to better align with UTHSCSA titles and descriptions

  6. Transition Impacts: • Years of service with UPG will not be counted towards UTHSCSA • Prior years of service with the State of Texas will be applied • Pay periods will change to once a month • Health Plan coverage will be effective on the first day of UTHSCSA employment • Vacation will be available on the first day of UTHSCSA employment

  7. Transition Impacts: • Last Paycheck from UPG will be July 9th • Will consist of 8 working days instead of 10 • First Paycheck with UTHSCSA will be August 1st • Will be for full month’s pay • Direct deposit can be effective for August 1st paycheck • Monthly payments for regular pay • Overtime paid on separate checks twice per month

  8. Transition Impacts: • Option for ETO cash out will be made available • UPG ETO - can be transferred over as vacation with minimum of 40 and maximum of 132 hrs. • ETO over 132 hrs. will be paid out to employees • ETO under 40 hours will be transferred • Catastrophic balances will not be transferred • UTHSC accrual rates • Vacation 8 hours/month • Sick 8 hours/month • 8 hours for Personal Day every 4 months • Previous employment with the State may increase the accrual rates for vacation

  9. Transition Impacts: • Deductibles for health insurance will start over as of July 1, 2010 • It’s advisable to take care of planned health care needs prior to July 1, 2010 • UPG health care spending accounts will be eligible for services through June 30, 2010 • FY 2011 benefits will begin on September 1, 2010
