  3. Research Schools • Don’t apply to schools that you think want you, but apply to schools that fit you. • Location! Location! Location! • Cost • Social Life • Buy the MSAR – Lots of Info!

  4. Finances Cost of attendance is a very important factor when choosing schools. Information on the costs of schools is easy to find. Don’t worry though, there are all types of financial aid available. Know what your are getting into!

  5. The MCAT Some people will tell you the MCAT is half of your application. It definitely holds a lot of weight and needs to be taken seriously. There’s no “right” time to take the test, but you should start studying for it as soon as possible! Be familiar with it as much as possible. Buy books, take classes, take practice tests!

  6. The Application • Be prepared – have information ready to submit and fill out before applications open! • Be familiar with important dates • May 1st – Application Opens • June 5th – Application Submission Begins • June 29th – Initial Applications Sent to Schools

  7. The Application • Gather Letters of Recommendation • Transcripts (Coursework) • Essays • Personal Statement • Submit MCAT Score • Secondary Applications • Know the Process - AMCAS

  8. Interviews! • Don’t dress out of your comfort zone • Don’t try to stand out. • Practice and prepare • Mock interviews • Know what’s on your application • Be yourself!

  9. Don’t Stress Yourself Out! Do your research, stay organized, and you might be saying s**t like these girls.
