  1. Why The reason I chose this tribe is because of their location. They live around the Texarkana area I think that’s cool. Where Most of the Caddo Indians lived in Texas. Some of the Indians lived in Arkansas or Oklahoma. Food My tribe gets food by hunting, gathering and farming. The men hunted and helped the women farm. The women farmed and gathered food. The Caddo Indians Sarah Hickerson 9-28-10 S.S. 2nd Homes The homes the Caddos lived in were cone shaped in the winter to keep warm. The houses in the summer had raised floors and no walls to keep cool. The houses were nicely furnished Fact The Caddos had an interesting way of greeting people. They would weep and wail when they saw visitors. When the explorers arrived they cried “Tehas” which means friends. Food My tribe ate deer, turkey, rabbits, squirrels, corn, beans, squash, black berries, and more! They were living large! Clothing My tribe used deer skin as clothing in the Summer. They also used buffalo hide in the winter to stay warm.
