Differential Expression of Microglia and Astroglia Markers in MIA-Induced Osteoarthritis

This study investigates the contrasting responses of microglia (OX-42) and astroglia (GFAP) in a 3-week model of monoiodoacetate (MIA)-induced osteoarthritis. We explore the expression levels of these markers in both ipsilateral and contralateral sides, highlighting the role of neuroinflammation in osteoarthritis pathophysiology. Understanding these differences can aid in identifying potential therapeutic targets for managing pain and disability in osteoarthritis.
