  2. Where we are going… • Essay titles to chose from • How does Michael Morpugo effectively describe the horrors of war? • “Home’s home. Here’s here.” (p165) Show how Michael Morpugo contrasts the ideas of “peace” and “war” • “…even my courage to be a coward had evaporated.” (p161) Do we admire Tommo Peaceful, or pity him?

  3. Today’s Lesson Aims • Sort out your answers into helpful essay plans • To chose which essay each of you will do • To read and make independent notes, relevant to chosen essay on next chapter

Today’s Tasks • Get into groups of 3 – at least one of you MUST have a full set of answers to all three end-of-chapter quizzes • Copy out each essay title onto a separate piece of paper • Re-read each answer and copy it, in full sentences, onto the relevant sheet • Read and make INDEPENDENT notes from p141 (“…they are stumbling back…”) to the end of the chapter on 149
