  2. Ephesians 2:8-9 8. For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.

  3. I. Grace • Goodwill, loving kindness • Unmerited favor • Mercy The grace of God is his free and everlasting love and favor

  4. Rom. 5:12 “Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:” Foundation for Redemption

  5. God’s part of SALVATION is Grace • Incarnation – Jn. 1:1,14 • Death – Heb. 2:9 • Burial – Jn. 19:38,39 • Resurrection – Acts 1:3 • Coronation

  6. II. Are Ye Saved • Salvation is subject • Salvation is gift of God • ability to believe = mind • things to believe = Christ • testimony = Bible

  7. Titus 2:11 “For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,”

  9. III. Through Faith • Man’s Part • Accept salvation • Rom. 5:1-2 “justified by faith” Salvation is provided by God’s grace and received by man’s faith.

  12. V. It is the Gift of God • Gift – given to another • Is salvation unconditional ? • Takes two to perfect a gift ! • One will offer • Another will accept

  13. VI. Not of Works Not earned Titus 3:4-5 “not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy he saved us”

  14. Eternal Life is Not Earned Man must do something We obey God’s commands B.R.C.B.=S Salvation is still by Grace

  15. VII. Lest Any man Should Boast • Glory – claim that God owes • If God owed – not a gift • If not a gift – Christ not needed The grace of God keeps us from boasting.

  16. Titus 2:11-12 “For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,” Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;
