Bug Status • Invalid references to “timesec” parameter • When SC-214 messages with the timesec parameter are accommodated via free text, they need to be accommodated in the same manner as FANS 1/A messages with the time parameter • Incorrect OR reference and text • Corrected reference to CPC-OR-59 • Resolved Fixed • Filtering of STANDBY DM messages not requested • Resolved Fixed • DCL EDCT Mandatory Time • Waiting for DCL validation activity results to complete.

  11. Bug Status (cont.) • Free Text Character Limit • Revise FANS requirement for CPC-IR-50 to reflect IR in DO-258A (4.6.6.8) • Add IR to limit SC-214 ground system to sending only 80 free text characters to a FANS 1/A aircraft

Bug Status (cont.) • W/U Messages Accommodated via Free Text in FANS • Need to take a look at all SC-214 messages that are not accommodated in FANS • Need to investigate safety issues in sending W/U clearance messages using free text roger response • Operational impact • Technical impact • Will no allow messages with Y response (paired messages responses) to be accommodated via free text

  14. New FANS Validation Objective • Need to look at the accommodation of the FANS 1/A messages and validate the validity of the accommodation rules
