Mr Foster will be continuing this story for the staff tomorrow. We’re looking for a rival paragraph from the students. At the end of the two weeks will staff or students have the best story?
It was dark outside. Really dark. Obviously with winter approaching Catherine expected it to be getting darker but when she peered outside there wasn’t even a glimmer of light. Mrs Jones’ lights weren’t on, which was unusual as she was normally up and about at a ludicrously early time. The street lights weren’t illuminating the pathway. No twilight was breaking through the thick clouds. There weren’t even any stars in the sky. Catherine could only see a faint outline of the woods on the hillside; a darker shadow against the purple sky. Maybe it was still night and she’d woken up early. She leant over to switch on her bedside light. Nothing. She tried the switch again. Nothing. A power cut maybe? She found her watch and pressed the button to illuminate the digital display. 8.30 am? 8.30 in the morning? Really?
