Insight about Soft Tissue Injury

When ligaments or tendons or muscles get injured due to overuse or

accident, they are called the soft tissue injuries represented as STI in

short. It is always a sudden happening which one cannot avoid as you

may see the reason for the cause. For instance, you roll your ankle, and

you develop pain. This is STI. You may even imagine getting hurt.

Overdoing on muscles and tendons without your knowledge leads to

STI. Therefore, it is better to stop worrying about how it has happened,

and right to know the treatment methods.

STI Symptoms

Soft tissue injury treatment can be efficiently given only when you

know the symptoms of the occurrence.

you can understand the symptom first

You can understand the symptom first by undergoing a pain and

swelling soon after you had got hurt or even without reason. Excessive

swelling also is noticed accompanied by stiffness.

If the ligament, tendons, or muscle is poorly damaged, then you can feel

the instability. This can be witnessed in the ankle, knee, and hip joints.

Recovery Time

It can take anywhere between one week and 12 weeks depending on the

severity of the damage. Also, age, gender, and other health condition of

individual may influence the recovery time.

Best Treatment for STI

1. You must consult a medical practitioner to rule out a fracture. Then

you can take some mild medication as suggested by the doctor based on

the intensity of your pain.

2. It is good to take help from a physiotherapist for a cure on a long run.

Three Stages of STI Treatment

1. Within 72 hours one must get first aid and protect the injured area.

Get diagnosed and start making a mild movement.

2. Then work towards reducing the stiffness and swelling to get back to

normal movement.

3. Getting back to normal.

All these three can happen only if you keep yourself active. Based on the

input from the physiotherapist practice movement and stay mobile. Only

then it is possible for a speedy recovery.
