  2. SUMMARY Thanksgiving is a great way to gather up family members and also enjoy traditions or go to church services . The Continental Congress declared the first national Thanksgiving in 1777 . The tradition almost didn't last. In 1816 Thanksgiving had almost disappeared .

  3. SOMETHING I LEARNED….. • By 1816, Thanksgiving was almost no longer a holiday. Thanks giving not a holiday.

  5. My favorite part was when… • Abraham Lincoln ordered two Thanksgivings. I love Thanksgiving and I wish my family had two Thanksgivings.
