  6. About Mr. Anderson • Graduated from UConn! GO HUSKIES! • Graduated with a Masters from Saint Joseph College • I helped instruct the UConn Marching Band Drumline • Big Yankees and Steelers fan! • I love to travel - recent trips to Ghana last summer • Love working on cars • Enjoy spending time with my family • I really enjoy working with my hands

What will we do this semester? • Students will examine how America has grown and developed into a world super power World War II until September 11th 2001. • Students will investigate and describe how selected events reflect and impact the the political, social, geographic, economic, and global characteristics of the United States between the 1930’s until 2001.

  8. By the end of the semester… • Identify and explain the importance of primary and secondary source documents. • Describe how specific events and individuals influenced our culture, society, economy, and political trajectory of the United States. • Why events of the past have and continue to impact the present and the future of our country. • How the United States has become a leader and superpower in the global economy.

  9. Being here is just the start! • “50% of everything in life is just showing up…” • I have high expectations for you! • To EARN credit for class you must be: • Caring (of the classroom and each other) • Respectful (of all things!) • Responsible (be prepared) “Grace & Grit”

  10. How do I earn credit? • I don’t give grades…you EARN them • Today everyone has a 100% or A+ • It is up to you to keep it as close to 100% as possible. • bringing your materials to class, being an active learner. • Effort…I want to see your growth as a learner

  11. Side Conversations • If I am having a side conversation my seat will be moved. • Listening must occur in order to learn. • If it is about the topic there will be time to share.

What if I’m Absent? • check assignments that were posted on my teacher'swebsite. • collect missed handouts during free periods, study halls, or on break. • copy missed notes during free periods or study hall. • take missed quizzes, ASAP (3 days) during study hall, free periods or after school. • Turn in homework and missed work ASAP (next day that you are back/able to hand in completed work.
