definition building drying
Definition – ‘Building Drying’
  • Building Drying is the mechanical removal of abnormal moisture from building structural materials within the building envelope, so that their normal Equilibrium Moisture Content (EMC) for that environment is achieved.
  • Drying of flooring – concrete sub flooring, tiled floors & wood flooring.
  • Drying of walls including wood framing, gyprock, block & brick walls.
  • Drying of cavities – within kitchens, vanities, built-in storage & more.

why dry the building
Why dry the building?

The removal of abnormal moisture prevents:

  • Secondary damage
    • Degradation of materials
    • Mould & related health issues
  • Expensive replacement & rebuilding costs
  • Expensive Business interruption
  • Lessens inconvenience to building occupants
