  2. The problem…. I need to capture documents at a remote office and send them to a central office for storage in halFILE

Using FTP Capable Scanners • Scans in remote office are sent via FTP protocol to the server at central site • Scans can be imported into halFILE in a thin-client session • Scans can be automatically collected by halFILE and dropped into user-defined baskets based around office of origination, destination database, etc. (requires additional halFILE module FTPFILE) • Scans can include a barcode page which populates halFILE index (requires additional halFILE module BARFILE and Kofax AIPE)

Using the halFILE Scan Module • The halFILE scan module can be configured so documents are scanned at remote office and sent via FTP protocol to the server at central site • Scans can be imported into halFILE in a thin-client session • Scans can be automatically collected by halFILE and dropped into user-defined baskets based around office of origination, destination database, etc. (requires additional halFILE module FTPFILE) • Scans can include a barcode page which populates halFILE index (requires additional halFILE module BARFILE and Kofax AIPE) • Requires a halFILE license at the remote site

  5. Scheduled Tasks • Remote office scans locally to local baskets • Batch routine is scheduled to run nightly to attach to remote server, map in drive, copy images to remote server, erase images and basket database entries from remote office site • Requires a halFILE license at the remote site

  6. Using Basket Transfer • Remote office scans locally to local basket • Remote office then uses basket transfer feature to move all basket entries from local basket to a basket on the network • Basket transfer is copying images to host site in the background • Thin client session or central location users index the items • Requires a halFILE license at the remote site

  7. Remote Print to halFILE • Remote Print to halFILE technology can be installed at remote office • Works like print to halFILE but after document is captured, it is delivered via FTP to central office
