Main focus: • Transparency • Changing process of issuing recommendations: Evidence based process • Code of conduct & conflicts of interest issues • Holistic approach to immunization issues • Developing resources • Meaningful collaboration with academia, GoI, industry, NGOs, etc
Transparency • Every agenda, discussion, minutes, proceeding, presentations, etc in public domain
Evidence based recommendations • A separate subcommittee is formed • Rotavirus was chosen as a first vaccine to issue EBR • First report on disease burden will be presented in this meeting
Code of conduct & conflicts of interest issues • Two separate proformas are developed • Code of conduct for IAPCOI • Self-declaration form for conflict of Interest

Holistic approach • Surveillance subcommittee • AEFI subcommittee • Advocacy to vaccination
VPD surveillance • Surveillance subcommittee was formed • IDSurv was officially launched • Data was presented in last meeting on 10 VPDs • In the process of updation & publication
AEFI • Subcommittee was formed • Separate meetings were held even with GoI reps • AEFI reporting was integrated with IDSurv • Improving vaccination practices to minimize AEFI (BD’s time motion study)
Advocacy • Regarding vaccination (parents, pediatricians) • Government campaigns, i.e. measles, polio etc • Ensuring better participation of the community (ImmunizeIndia project, etc) • Tackling misinformation campaigns: KAP survey of pediatricians
Resources Publications: • IAP Textbook on vaccines • Consensus recommendations • Replies to Readers’ queries on immunization issues (IP, website, e-mails, etc) • Revision of IAP Guidebook on Immunization • Position papers??
