  2. Plow (Agriculture) • Used for agriculture ,specifically harvesting. • Plowed through wet and heavy dirt. • A BIGadvancement for the agriculture business.

  3. Horse Harness • Efficient plowing. • Easier transportation (carriages). • Attached to collar and chest. • Horses mobility controlled.

  4. Wheelbarrow • Easier to carry heavy loads. • Can transport a huge amount of something.

  5. WHAT TIME IS IT…? • Hourglass • The drops of sand told the amount of time that has passed. • Sundial • - Gave rough estimate on the time, by using the suns shadows.

  6. Mirrors • Created images for everything. • See reflections.

  7. Vertical Windmill • 1185 • Drained water. • Grinded grain.

  8. Medieval Hospital System Cared for – 1. Travelers 2. Blind 3. Peasants 4. Diseased

  9. Paper • Used parchment before. • Parchment used for elaborate manuscripts. • Paper; cheaper and lighter than parchment. • Paper made from linen rags.

  10. Spinning Wheel • Time consuming ,but produced even threads. • Hand spinning time was cut in half. • Foot pedal dramatically reduced time.

  11. MedievalARMOR • Chainmail protected from blade cuts. • Lethal weapons had little affect.

  12. Medieval Compass • Sailors/explorers found their way through fog. • It was the old “tom- tom.” • Specific directions were set.

  13. The Rudder • Enabled use of wind and water power. • Efficient sailing. • Reduced ship-wrecks. • Allowed full mobility of the ship.
