How to Win! • Submit a 250-500 word essay telling us what winning the Kaplan course would mean to you by MARCH 15th(next Wednesday). • Submissions must be kept anonymously and you will only use your PS ID. • The Board will then review each submission and the winner will be announced at our next meeting! Good luck!

  7. Elections! • Elections are coming up and we want YOU...to run for office!

Important Dates • Officer application must be filled out and submitted to uhpops@gmail.com by Saturday April 1st • Schedule interview with President, VP, and current officer of the position you’re interested in by Friday April 14th • Elections will be held Wednesday April 19th during our 6th General meeting. • Winner will be announced during our End of the Year Banquet (EOYB) Friday April 21st

Spring Conference • When: April 7th from 7pm-9pm • Where: UH Hilton Hotel in the Shamrock Ballroom • About: An evening where POPS chapters around Texas come together and dine while listening to a guest speaker (or two) talk about the optometry profession! The night includes: • Theme: Casino Night • Frame Drive winners will be announced this night! • Poster Competition • And more! • THE NEXT DAY: UHCOpen House! • Sign up is available!

Scholarships • Top 3 most active members money! • 1st: $300 • 2nd: $200 • 3rd: $100 • Khoa Nick Pham Memorial Scholarship • $1,000 • Criteria: • Minimum GPA of 3.0 (Copy of unofficial transcript) • Proof of acceptance to an Optometry school program (Copy of acceptance letter) • Current active member of the University of Houston Pre-Optometry Professionals Society (POPS) • One-page essay: What change(s) do you wish to see in the optometry profession and how would you approach these changes?
