  1. DAY 4 Session 2 Taking it home: An Action plan

  2. Outcomes for participants At the end of this session participants should be able to: • Develop an action plan for gaining support for their association’s proposal

  3. Action Plan – worked example Consider the handout – an example of the people you might need to gain support from for your proposal and how to go about this.

  4. Activity – Action plan to gain support 15 mins • Your development proposal is now complete. Next step is to take it home and gain support for it – an action plan • Using the template, work in association pairs to complete it: • goal is to gain support for the proposal • identify 3 or 4 objectives to help achieve the goal • for each person identify strategies • set timelines

  5. Activity – Regional challenges, identifying a regional goal 30 mins • Work in small groups • Associations to share their issues with the group. (Each group to identify a reporter, who will report back to the whole group at the end of the session.) • Identify a common issue that might be a worthwhile regional goal. (10 mins) • What might be some useful strategies for cross border cooperation on this issue? (10 mins) • Write these down as they will form the basis of discussion in session 4 – developing a blueprint for regional collaboration. • Reconvene as a whole group. The reporter for each group is to report to the whole group on the potential common goal they identified. Facilitator/trainer to note these on the board. (10 mins)
