  3. What is Psi Chi? Psi Chi is the International Honor Society in Psychology, founded in 1929. Psi Chi is an affiliate of the American Psychological Association (APA) and the American Psychological Society (APS). This is the Cal Poly Pomona Chapter!

  4. What are our goals? • To provide an environment that promotes creative development. • Activities • Grad school workshops • Professor panels • Speakers • Social events • Basketball tournament • Community service events • Kidcare International • Knit for Need • Bubble fest • Fundraisers • T-Shirts • Cow Chip Bingo!!! • Food sales • Car Wash

  5. What are the benefits? Professional growth References Exposure to different fields of psychology. Meeting and interacting with leaders in their field and other students interested in psychology. Networking Notification of research and job opportunities/ internships/ and scholarships.

  6. Qualifications for International Membership • 3.0 cumulative GPA • 3.0 major class GPA • 20 participation points • Meetings (1) • Book lending (1) • Social events (2) • Community Service (3) • Fundraisers (3) • Attending conferences (4) • Presenting at conferences (5) • Complete application for International membership • You DO NOT have to be a International member to participate in club meetings and events

  7. Dues • How much? • $15.00 per quarter • $35.00 for the whole year • What does it pay for? • Food • Supplies • Social events • WPA!!!! • Banquet • COME SEE SARA WHEN YOU HAVE YOUR DUES! • You dot have to wait until the end of the quarter to pay your dues.

  8. WPA • Last room payment of $49 is due tomorrow. • Sara will be sitting outside the class to help you out

  10. T-shirts • We want everyone who is attending WPA to have one • T-shirts are in • Prices are $20 for both the regular and v-necks. • See Sean and Sara to purchase your shirt after the announcements.

  12. COW CHIP BINGO • $5 per ticket • Event will be held on Sat. April 9th  • Every ticket sold will get you 1 point toward international membership (up to 3 points) • Prizes are as follows • GRAND PRIZE: up to $150 (depending on amount of tickets sold) • 2nd PLACE: Glorious Gift Basket • 3rd place: movie tickets

  14. PSI CHI CAR WASHES Saturday, April 16th Sunday, April 17th 50% of the profits from the two day car wash will help with: - WPA conference - end-of-the-year banquet The other 50% will be donated to tsunami victims in Japan.

As an ADDED incentive for our PSI CHI members interested in going to WPA or in becoming an International PSI CHI Members, we are now offering: $5 per ticket PRE-SALE TICKETS WILL BE AVAILABLE 1 POINT FOR EVERY HOUR YOU HELP! Please e-mail or contact me if you need a car pool to the location TO HELP PSI CHI

  17. Saturday, April 9 1:00pm-2:00pm University Quad The American Cancer Society Relay For Life unites communities across the country each year to celebrate the lives of those who have battled cancer, remember loved ones lost, and fight back against a disease that takes too much.

  18. April 9-10 University Quad • Relay for Life starts with a ceremony at Noon on Saturday and ends noon on Sunday. It is a 24 hour event! • We will be walking Saturday 1-2pm but you can attend at any time and receive points by signing in under the C.L.A.S.S. Council tent • You have the option of joining C.L.A.S.S. Council’s team online, they have a goal of raising $800.00 (currently at $145)
