  2. Renew RCC Environmental Senate This green committee is meant to lead RCC to be clean and green as aligned with the goals of the city of Riverside. With the help of committed individuals we can revamp the college to adopt more innovative and sustainable methods. Meeting Thursdays 3:00-3:30 pm Conference Rm. - Student Gov. Build.

  4. Renew RCC Energy City Goal: Promote Riverside as a Solar City by installing 20 MW of local photovoltaic installations by 2020. City Goal: Based on 2006 reports, reduce the City’s base electrical load by 10% by 2012 and reduce the City’s peak electrical load by 20% by 2020.

  5. Renew RCC Water City Goal: Reduce water usage by 20% by 2020. City Goal: Increase the use of recycled water usage by 30% by 2020, based on the 2008 baseline.

  6. Renew RCC Waste City Goal: Implement programs to reduce waste, based on the 2007 per capita baseline, by 75% by 2020. City Goal: Implement educational programs throughout the community to encourage green practices.

  7. Renew RCC Urban Design City Goal: Provide incentives to increase green development throughout Riverside annually. City Goal: Apply urban planning principles that encourage high density, mixed use, walkable/ bike-able neighborhoods, and coordinate land-use and transportation with open space systems.

  8. Renew RCC Urban Nature City Goal: Increase the City’s Urban Forest. City Goal: Plant at least 1,000 trees in City parks and right-of-ways annually.
