Prototypical Plan Sketches • Experience = Quick estimation • Past projects are guides • Prototypical = generalized sketch • Quick for information only • Will not be set in stone designs • Will need basic knowledge of typical furniture sizes and access to reference manuals • Provides a better understanding of the needs for each space • Not intended for clients use

  3. Team Assignment: • Each team will develop prototypical plan sketches for each of their spaces. • Make sure that the sq. footage we assigned is going to accommodate the FF&E required. • If the space is too large, adjust it so it will not be wasteful. • Include dimensions and all furniture/equipment required in the space.

  4. Criteria Matrix Completed after the plan sketches are finalized. Criteria includes: Sq. Footage Adjacencies Public Access Daylight/View Privacy Plumbing Special Equip Special Considerations

  5. Bubble (relationship) Diagram • Draw circles for each space required • Size of circle should relate to sq. footage • Spaces requiring adjacencies should be close to each other (or touch) • Use connecting lines (graphic symbols) to indicate adjacencies and major circulation. • Should not relate to building shell • Room names and sq. footages indicated • Views, privacy etc. should be indicated. • Must include a legend.
