  2. Transformation Fund • 27 full day care settings have accessed training courses • 34 settings have staff working towards accredited professional development. • 15 settings have a commitment to establishing an Early years professional.

  3. Transformation Fund • To date • £40,000 on bursary/course fees • £35,000 for Student Support Grant • £38,000 for backfill and overtime • £25,000 Training Courses • £60,000 for Quality Premium/Recruitment Incentive • Total - £198,000 claimed by PVI settings.

  4. September - March • £60,000 – Quality Premium/Recruitment incentive • £30,000 – Home Grown Graduate Incentive • £68,000 - Student Support Grant • £30,000 – Bursaries • £40,000 – Training Courses

  5. Graduate Leader Fund • March 2008 – March 2011. Transformation Fund will be replaced by Graduate leader Fund. • Aims to ensure that a graduate leads the EYFS within every PVI setting. • Funds directly given to settings who are committed to supporting a practitioner reach EYPS/graduate status. • Bursaries • An increase in modular accredited training over short day courses.

  6. Managers have you identified who your EYPS will be? • A short video clip • An EYP will lead the Early Years Foundation Stage framework. • Managers will work with EYP to give direction as to how they impact upon the development in the setting.

  7. Code of Practice • To ensure and monitor quality training that can clearly show impact in settings and with practitioners practice. • To ensure that practitioners have choice but are also undertaking the right course in the best learning mode for them. • Currently organisations complete are Gateshead College; PSLA; Horizon • Practitioners must apply for the funding prior to enrolling to ensure that bursary can be paid.

  8. Bursary application process • Apply for funding • Enrol with confirmation letter • Sign terms and conditions – 3 way Learning Agreement • Data entered onto Database and 1st 25% released to provider • Tracking sheet returned at 6 months and second payment released • Final 50% released as practitioner completes that year/qualification • The provider reserves the right to claim remaining funds form practitioner if no clear reason for leaving is available.

  9. Consultation The Graduate Leader Fund is to increase the number of graduates in PVI sector In order to help us plan to disseminate the fund to you can you comment on a post it note; • Do you have any concerns, as a PVI provider about this government policy? • How might this fund help you to meet this target?
