What was the approach? • Develop a basket of commonly used metrics to facilitate business discussions throughout the value chain about the sustainability of packaging systems • Use pre-existing internationally recognised metrics where these exist • Include Environmental, Social and Economic metrics • Builds on existing work

  9. Optimum Packaging is the Goal • Our shared ultimate goal does not change • Getting product to the shelf in intact through sound packaging designs • Packaging is a necessary part of the product offering • Too little packaging can create more waste with unsalable product
