  2. Early Life • Born on May 3, 1903, in Tacoma, Washington. • His original name was Harry Lillis Crosby. • Singing career started in 1924 in LA. • His first band was called The Rhythm Boys.

  3. Early Life Cont. • He became king of the theater and radio in the 1930’s. • He married Dixie Lee in 1930 and had three kids. • He soon became known for his crooning style of singing.

  4. Career • He became the star of CBS radio. • He starred in over 60 films in his life. • Most of his films were romantic comedies or musicals. • He was a success because of his amazing personality.

  5. Career Cont. • He is most famous for his role in Holiday Inn. • From this movie came his best song, White Christmas. • He often costarred with actors such as Bob Hope and Dorothy Lamour. • He also sang for the USO in WWII.

  6. Awards and Achievements • His most critically acclaimed film is Going My Way where he played a singing priest. • His song White Christmas went on to be covered by numerous artists even today. • He received an Academy award in 1944.

  7. Later Life • In 1852, Crosby’s wife, Dixie Lee, died. • In 1957, he remarried to an actress by the name of Kathryn Grant. • They had two more children together.

  8. Later Life Cont. • Bing Crosby died in 1977. • Since he was a notable sportsman in his later years, it would seem fit that he would die on a golf course of a heart attack. • He had amassed one of the largest fortunes ever conceived in Hollywood.
