  3. Interest rates may now have peaked

  4. Inflation and growth under control?

  5. Consumer confidence is dipping

  6. And the dollar reaches record lows against the Euro

  7. Employment still rising – a good sign

  8. Will foreign $ assets be sold?

  9. But US manufacturing is shedding more jobs

  10. But the housing market is slowing

  11. And falling in California!

  12. New home sales in decline

  13. And far fewer new homes started

  14. So base interest rates are now heading down

  15. Perhaps a slowdown will cause savings to recover?

  16. The trade gap (chasm?)

  17. Mainly in goods

  18. UK interest rates now higher

  19. Driving sterling higher against the US dollar
