  3. A major theme of many films is Good and Evil and many characters in films symbolise good and evil. Can you list any?

  4. Good characters Bad characters

  5. Can you think of any films with a religious or moral theme and list them in your book ?

  6. The Snowman • Think of 3 words to describe this film clip? 2. There is no speech. (dialogue) Why? 3. How is the music used? 4. What atmosphere does this create? 5. What does the boy do when he has made the snowman? 6. What is this to do with religion?

  7. The Prince of Egypt – Burning Bush What is the lighting like? Colour? What is God like? How does Moses feel?

  8. Peter, Edmund, Susan & Lucy are evacuated to an old house. In the house they find a wardrobe that leads to a magical country Narnia. .

  9. In Narnia Edmund meets the evil White Witch and decides to betray his brother and sisters. Edmund is rescued by the Lord of Narnia, Aslan, and his brother and sisters. The next day the Witch says that Edmund must die as he is a traitor. Aslan agrees and makes a secret deal with the witch.

  12. Task 2: Answer the following questions • How was the treatment of Aslan like that of Jesus? • Why did Aslan come back from the dead? • Why did Jesus come back from the dead? • What is similar about what happened after Jesus’ death and what happened after Aslan’s death

  13. The Witch represents Satan & Aslan represents Jesus. The treatment of Aslan just before he is put to death is similar to ways Jesus was treated. Aslan chose to die in Edmund’s place so that he could survive, just as Christians believe Jesus died for people’s sins. Aslan rose from the dead just like Jesus did. After the battle (which they win) Aslan brings his followers back to life.
