The History of Barcelona • The first people came to Barcelona around 2000 before Christ. • In 985 a Arabic king almost destroyed Barcelona, but he didnt succeed. • Barcelona was the first city in Europe with a public bank. • Barcelona was a Republican fort during the Spanish civil war, and the city fell in 1939. • Barcelona grew to the second largest city of Spain.
