  1. Those Jesus Loved...

  2. The Rich Young Man Mar 10:21 Then Jesus, beholding him, loved him and said to him, One thing you lack. Go, sell whatever you have and give it to the poor, and you shall have treasure in Heaven. And come, take up the cross and follow Me. Mar 10:22 And he was sad at that saying and went away grieved, for he had great possessions....

  3. Much instruction may be had from looking at the conduct, spirit, and question of this person: 1. He came running, (Mar_10:17), for he was deeply convinced of the importance of his business, and seriously determined to seek so as to find. 2. He kneeled, or caught him by the knees, thus evidencing his humility, and addressing himself only to mercy. See Mat_17:14. 3. He came in the spirit of a disciple, or scholar, desiring to be taught a matter of the utmost importance to him - Good teacher. 4. He came in the spirit of obedience; he had worked hard to no purpose, and he is still willing to work, provided he can have a prospect of succeeding - What good thing shall I do? 5. His question was the most interesting and important that any soul can ask of God - How shall I be saved? (Acts 16:30,31)

  4. Mary & Martha Joh 11:5 Now Jesus loved Martha, and her sister, and Lazarus. John 11- Martha comes to meet Jesus. No indication she fell at His feet. Mary, when she comes to Jesus, fell at His feet.

  5. Many have tended to distinguish Martha as “the practical one and Mary as the spiritual one. Both of these women reveal unique spiritual gifts with which they lovingly served God. (Lk 10:41,42) They remind us of the importance of balancing personal devotion with practical duties. These are not irreconcilable facts of a believing life and should never be allowed to be pitted against one another. However, one thing is needful-Jesus and His words...hosting is important, but not at the expense of hearing the Word of the Lord. “...Jesus loved Martha, and her sister, and Lazarus.”

  6. His Disciples... Joh 13:1 Now before the feast of the passover, when Jesus knew that his hour was come that he should depart out of this world unto the Father, having loved his own which were in the world, he loved them unto the end. Joh 17:20 And I do not pray for these alone, but for those also who shall believe on Me through their word, Joh 17:26 And I made known to them Your name, and will make it known, so that the love with which You have loved Me may be in them, and I in them.

  7. Joh 13:23 Now there was leaning on Jesus' bosom one of his disciples, whom Jesus loved. Joh 20:2 Then she runneth, and cometh to Simon Peter, and to the other disciple, whom Jesus loved, and saith unto them, They have taken away the Lord out of the sepulchre, and we know not where they have laid him. Joh 21:7 Therefore that disciple whom Jesus loved saith unto Peter, It is the Lord. Now when Simon Peter heard that it was the Lord, he girt his fisher's coat unto him, (for he was naked,) and did cast himself into the sea. Joh 21:20 Then Peter, turning about, seeth the disciple whom Jesus loved following; which also leaned on his breast at supper, and said, Lord, which is he that betrayeth thee?

  8. 2Th 2:16-17 Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God, even our Father, who has loved us, and has given us everlasting consolation and good hope through grace, Comfort your hearts, and stablish you in every good word and work. Rev 1:5-6 And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood, And hath made us kings and priests to God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.

  9. Jesus loved the people... Luk 13:34 Jerusalem! Jerusalem! the one killing the prophets, and stoning those having been sent to her; how often I desired to gather your children in the way a hen gathers her brood under the wings, and you did not desire it. Luk 13:35 Behold, your house is left to you desolate. And truly I say to you, You will not see Me until it come when you say, Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord. Joh 12:12-13 On the next day, when they heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem, a great crowd who had come to the Feast took branches of palm trees and went out to meet Him. And they cried, Hosanna! "Blessed is the King of Israel who comes in the name of the Lord!"

  10. Joh 12:26 If anyone serves Me, let him follow Me; and where I am, there also My servant shall be. If anyone serves Me, the Father will honor him. Joh 12:27 And My soul is troubled, and what shall I say? Father, save Me from this hour? But for this cause I came to this hour. Joh 12:32 And I, if I am lifted up from the earth, I will draw all to Myself. Joh 12:33 But He said this, signifying what kind of death He was about to die.

  11. Joh 14:21 He that has my commandments, and keeps them, he it is that loves me: and he that loves me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him. A few more days and....

  12. HE WENT TO THE CROSS THE SACRIFICE FOR SIN - BECAUSE HE LOVED THEM AND US Remember....

  13. REMEMBER ... Rom 5:8 But God commends His love toward us in that while we were yet sinners Christ died for us.
