  1. Asian Gaelic Games 2011October 14th -16th Suwon, Korea Early Bird Package

  2. Welcome! Dear Club! Welcome to the 2011 Asian Gaelic Games! As this year’s hosts, the Seoul Gaels are delighted to send you this Early Bird Package to give you a taste of what’s to come. Also included is the information you and your fellow club members need to get your trip organized. Suwon City, South Korea will be where all the action takes place. We look forward to seeing you on October 14th – 16th!

  3. Hotels There are three designated AGG hotels in Suwon City: The Ramada Plaza, where the opening ceremony & The Ibis Suwon Ambassador and La Vie D’Or, where the Closing Ceremony & Banquet will take place. Please see the links below if you would like to check out the rooms & facilities at the hotels. http://www.ramadaplazasuwon.com http://www.laviedor.com http://www.ibishotel.com/gb/hotel-6528-ibis-suwon-ambassador/index.shtml However please note: DO NOT contact the hotels directly to make your AGG booking. We have organized a special booking website and agent who will handle your reservation. Go to the official website www.2011asiangaelicgames.com Click on “Hotels” You can proceed to booking from there. For any queries or assistance you can contact Seoul Gael Joe Trolan – chair.seoulgaels@gmail.com But please note Joe cannot book rooms for you – use the website above.

  4. Flights & Airport There are two airports in Seoul, Incheon International Airport & Gimpo Airport. Gimpo does accept international flights but it is mainly for domestic use. Incheon is the better option. It is about 50 mins from Incheon to Suwon. We will be providing designated AGG buses to pick up clubs from the airport at regular intervals on Thursday evening and all day Friday. More details of this to follow nearer to the weekend. Incheon is regarded as one of the best airports in the world however as you know Seoul is off the beaten track and so it is advisable to plan ahead and book early to get good deals on flights. Please contact us when you have your club’s flight booked so we can liaise with you concerning the bus pick-up.

  5. Visa Information As you are all aware there are visa requirements to enter every country and these differ according to your country of birth. Please find out this information for your travelling party – the earlier the better! The Korea Immigration Service (KIS) website address details are below. When you click on “English” and find “Countries Under Visa Agreements”there is a list of tourist visa exempted countries -83 in all ‘as of February, 2007’. Ireland is among the 83 listed. It is advisable you mention to your members that, before travelling, they should check that their passports are valid for a year or more. http://www.immigration.go.kr

  6. The Venue We are thrilled to announce that all games this year will be held at the grounds of the World Cup Stadium, Suwon. http://www.suwonworldcup.or.kr/eng/ The World Cup Stadium boasts state of the art pitches, both grass and astro turf.
