  3. Lancaster PLTW High School Results 98% of PLTW students entered college 2% entered Military

  4. Overall Results 99% of Lancaster PLTW graduates have finished or are still in college. 74% of PLTW students entered into an engineering/technology college curriculum. 95% of those students that initially entered a college engineering/technical program are still enrolled in a college engineering/technical program.

  5. Overall Results • 50% of U.S. engineering students drop out. (According to Penn State) • Only 5% of Lancaster PLTW students who enter an engineering/technical college program have transferred to other programs. That’s a 95% retention. • According to the Department of Education figures for all college students, 2000 through 2006, 30% leave in the first year, and an astonishing 50% never graduate. • 99% of Lancaster PLTW students that entered college are still attending or have graduated.

  7. From Harvey Stenger Dean of Engineering at UB “Each year approximately 10 to 15 of your PLTW students attend UB’s School of Engineering and Applied Sciences as freshmen. They are some of our best engineering students, they have entrance scores significantly higher than our other students, and they have higher retention and graduation rates. In recognition of your program’s excellence we have started a scholarship program this year and will award two $500 scholarships to the best PLTW students who plan to attend UB.”
