  3. Laptop Advantages : - You can carry it freely wherever you go. Which you couldn’t do with a computer. - Since a laptop is a complete computer, you aren't reliant on other additional things like mouse, keyboards and monitors, which means fewer things to stop working Disadvantages: - Sometimes the battery of the laptop will; So then you will have to recharge it. You may loose work while this is happening. - Laptops, computer are difficult to repair , upgrade or change due to their closed and included design. Page 3 Shahina Khan 44359

  4. Games Console Advantages: - The games entertain you. You don’t have to wait on your computer for the game to load. - Much cheaper than a gaming built pc, No need for installation, no particular system requirements, easy to rent console games. Disadvantages: - Sometimes you get bored of one game and you may have to buy another. - Looking at the screen often can hurt your eyes, and this could cause your eyes to be damaged.   5. I Pad Disadvantages: - You can only open a program or software at once. This then means you can’t do many things at once. - In actual fact, iPad is an enlarged version of iPod touch. - Most people need use both hands to take the iPad. Advantages: - It is transportable. It is like carrying a mini laptop. It is also smaller. Unlike a computer. - Be able to run all the programs of iPhone. - iPad is lighter and thinner than any other notebooks.   6. I Phone Advantages: - The I Phone has everything. For example, game applications, internet, etc. Unlike a normal mobile phone. - On a iPhone you can book any appointments you need. - An iPhone is faster than an computer or a laptop because everything is just a touch away. Disadvantages: - The I Phone doesn’t allow you to transfer data and information from the PC to the device through a USB. - Sometimes the iPhone may break which will cost you a bunch to repair the phone. - You can only use one sim on the iPhone. MP3 • Disadvantages: • You can’t recharge an mp3 player which means, you have to go out and waste money and buy batteries. • Songs may sometimes skip on an MP3 player. • An Mp3 player has a very little space of security. • Advantages: • You can store over 1000 songs, which saves you from carrying CD’s. • Mp3 player are smaller than a CD so you can carry it in your pocket. • Easy to download music so you won’t be troubled. Social NETWORKING • Advantages: • This is another way to communicate with friends such as Facebook, MSN, Twitter, etc. This saves you from wasting credit on your phone. • When you are on these social sites you can talk to many friends at the same time. which you can’t do on a phone. Disadvantages: - You’re not always sure who you’re talking to. - Cyber bullying can make some peoples lives very miserable. - Can be addictive difficult to give up, when you should be doing jobs round the house or homework.   9. camera • Advantages: • You can take 500 shots with a digital camera and you can select the ones you want. This is better than the old cameras, which need film. And you can’t see the pictures until the films developed. • You don’t have to print every picture • No risk of negatives, e.g. getting lost or scratched. • Disadvantages: • Sometimes the battery in the camera runs out of charge, which therefore means that you need to recharge the battery. • Digital cameras are expensive than normal cameras. • The cameras are sensitive, so when the camera fall, this may cause the camera to break. T.V • Advantages: • - Digital T.V gives you more channels and better reception. • - You can watch all your movies, programmes, cartoons etc. on the T.V. • This better than an analogue T.V which only has about 5 channels. • Some children learn how to read and write from the subtitles and talking on T.V. • Now in this generation there is colour on the T.V’s, however in the olden times everything was in black and white. • Disadvantages: • But your always going to want to buy the new version of sky/T.V. • The T.V may make you lazy, and make you a bad influence. • When watching the T.V up-close the brightness of the T.V will destroy your eyesight. • Some people forget about everything else and just watch T.V Page 10 Shahina Khan 44359

Mobile phones • Disadvantages: • - When texting your credit gets wasted, this also happens when calling another person. • The phones that we buy costs a lot of money. • Everyone would always want the next big phone out. • Some people may get hold of your number and trouble you, e.g. Prank call. Advantages: - You can text your friends. Also call them. - You can get unlimited calls and text messages. - You can take photo’s which allows you to share your experience with family and friends. - You can listen to music which saves you form carrying and mp3 player. Internet Advantages: - The internet is great for doing homework, e.g. researching. - Also you can listen to music on YouTube and other music sites. - You can play games. - When you sending emails, you can send them in a snap. But before the internet was invented, you would have to write the letter and then post it. - You can do online shopping. • Disadvantages: • Internet can cause viruses on your computer. This affects your computer by making the computer slow. • Pop up’s may just come up, this can be very frustrating. Page 12 Shahina Khan 44359

How to stay safe on social networking sites Threats Threats may include viruses, spam, phishing, identity theft, spyware cyber bullying, etc. Threats mostly happen on social network sites, e.g. Facebook. An example is cyber bullying, threatening and these can get very serious. What is social networking? Social networking is where people from different parts of the country and world stay in touch. It allows you to talk and post personal updates. You can also post pictures and comments. Jobs IT has had many changes in jobs. They have also created many job titles . For example; ICT technician, network manager, data manager, games designer, forum moderator, computer programmer and software designer. Economic Economic is where things change the way you buy products books, games and clothes. It also changes the way you buy services such as insurances and holidays. Page 13 Shahina Khan 44359
